With the New Year upon us, and well under way, I thought I'd share a few resolutions I've been thinking about starting:
Start a New Habit: Blog More Frequently
This is a goal I always set for myself every year because I'm not a regular blogger. I have a full time job and all the other excuses, but it really can't hurt me to sit down a few nights a week and bang out some of my thoughts to share with the internet at large. I'm going to try my best to write some killer content and for god's sake - SAVE MY DRAFTS.
Read Some Books:
Learn a New Skill: Hand Lettering
I have always wanted to learn how to put a little extra care into my handwriting and it might be a step-up from coloring books on the relaxation scale if I want to challenge myself. Also, I'm looking forward to more hand written letters. I can also group in "make more art" into this goal as well.
Go on a Visit to: Japan
I'm going to Japan in the spring so I will have to start planning where we are going to visit. A few things I want to do while I am there is visit an onsen, drink sake at a tiny bar, eat sushi at a fancy restaurant, stay at a love hotel, stay in a capsule hotel, visit a shrine. I am also trying to learn a bit of Japanese for survival...so far I only know greetings. Wish me luck!
Break a Bad Habit: Spending DAT CA$H
I'm trying to curb my spending a bit to save up for aforementioned trip, but also towards other things like a new car and attempting to finally pay off my student loans this year. So far...not so good. I just bought this on an impulse this weekend and I am NOT regretting it.
Look Forward To: Weddings & Roller Coasters!
I have a few close friends getting married this year so I am looking forward to traveling to the celebrations, and also so I can dance like this. I also have another group of friends that is organizing a meet up at an amusement park and I CAN'T WAIT TO SCREAM MY LUNGS OUT LIKE A CRAZY PERSON all weekend. Sorry in advance, guys.
Try Something New: Opening a Design Shop
I've recently been toying around with the idea of getting a side-gig hustle going and I think I might start selling my art online either through this website or elsewhere like Etsy, CafePress, or Zazzle. I've also put some serious thought about trying out the craft fair circuit - we'll see what's in store this summer - you know I'll keep y'all posted!
